Privacy Statement
Wesway is committed to protecting the personal privacy of the families we support. We safeguard all Personal Health Information (PHI) and ensure confidentiality and security in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Participants and family caregivers have the right to access their PHI, and Wesway takes reasonable steps to keep this information accurate, complete, and up to date.
To provide high‑quality respite services and support a coordinated “Circle of Care,” Wesway may share PHI with other service providers when necessary and permitted under PHIPA. Individuals may raise concerns or complaints about our privacy practices at any time, and we respond in accordance with legislative requirements.
Wesway protects PHI through secure practices designed to prevent loss, theft, or unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For more information about our privacy policies or procedures, please contact the Wesway office at 623‑2353.
Accessibility
Wesway is committed to providing accessible services for people with disabilities and meets or exceeds the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We communicate in ways that respect individual needs and preferences, welcome service animals, and support the use of personal or onsite assistive devices.
If a temporary service disruption affects access, Wesway notifies individuals and families promptly with details and alternative options when available. People with disabilities may access our services with or without a support person.
Our staff and volunteers receive AODA training, and we welcome feedback to help improve accessibility.
Our commitment is guided by the core principles of the AODA:
Dignity, Independence, Integration, and Equal Opportunity, ensuring that all individuals can access and benefit from our services in a respectful, inclusive, and equitable manner.
