This October 12, 2026, Wesway proudly celebrate 53 years of supporting caregivers, families, and individuals.

What began as grassroots, voluntary effort has grown into an organization offering a broad range of respite and support services across Northern Ontario. While our services have evolved and expanded over the past five decades, our foundation remains the same; a commitment to supporting caregivers.

This anniversary also comes at an important time of transition for Wesway. We extend our sincere appreciation to outgoing CEO Dana MacMillan for her leadership, dedication, and contributions to the organization, and we look forward to welcoming Jason Lisi as Wesway’s incoming CEO, effective January 1, 2027.

As we celebrate 53 years, we honour the caregivers, families, volunteers, staff, community partners, and supporters who have shaped Wesway’s story. Each has played a part in helping a small volunteer initiative grow into the organization Wesway is today.
